Laura Steinel


Laura Steinel is a writer who most recently wrote and directed FAMILY, produced by Sue Naegle and Kit Giordano and starring Taylor Schilling, Matt Walsh, Kate McKinnon and Brian Tyree Henry. This film premiered at the 2018 SXSW Film Festival and subsequently sold to the Film Arcade. It will be released in 2019. She also wrote the original comedy WOMEN IN BUSINESS, which sold to Fox with Gloria Sanchez and Chernin Entertainment producing. Laura previously created and co-executive produced the pilot H.R. at Fox with 20th Century Fox starring Judy Greer & Patton Oswalt and was staffed on Amazon’s RED OAKS.

Mark Perez



Mark Perez wrote the critically acclaimed New Line Cinema action-comedy Game Night which Warner Bros. released February 23, 2018.  Directed by Jon Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the film stars Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams, based on a pitch Perez developed together with Bateman.  Game Night earned over $117 million at the worldwide box-office. Next up for Perez is writing the feature Carmen Sandiego for Netflix.  The film is set to star Gina Rodriguez.

One of the inaugural members of the Walt Disney Studios’ Feature Writers Program, Perez has sold over 25 screenplays.  His credits include Herbie Fully Loaded and Accepted.  He also wrote Mothers I’d Like To… for Jennifer Lopez, which was sold to Universal.

As an author, Perez’s debut novel, How To Win At Life By Cheating At Everything, was published in August 2017 by Dark Horse Books, distributed by Penguin Random House.  Perez regales with tales of his amazing life and bizarre upbringing, with a father who showed him how to commit every scam, con, and swindle known to man.  Part memoir, part graphic novel, part Con-Man-How-To, the book works well as a guidebook for life.  He is currently developing the project as a television series.

Recently, Perez wrote a memoir entitled Jews of the Caribbean, which is a reflection on his experiences growing up as a first generation Cuban American.A graduate of Florida State University, Perez married his college sweetheart.


Paul W. Downs



Paul W. Downs is an American actor, writer and producer who can currently be seen in Comedy Central’s BROAD CITY, which debuts it’s fifth and final season on January 24. Downs acts in, writes and co-executive produces the series which has received WGA and Critics’ Choice Television Awards nominations for Best Comedy Series. Downs plays Trey Pucker, Abbi’s boss and romantic interest.


On the big screen, Downs recently co-starred in Netflix’s 2018 summer comedy LIKE FATHER opposite along Kristen Bell, Kelsey Grammar and Seth Rogen. He was also in Sony’s ROUGH NIGHT opposite Scarlett Johansson which he co-wrote and co-produced with his longtime partner Lucia Aniello, who directed the film. Downs also starred in the Comedy Central miniseries TIME TRAVELING BONG alongside Ilana Glazer, and in the Netflix special THE CHARACTERS.

Peter Carlone is a Vancouver based comedy writer, performer, and director, who is one half of three-time Canadian Comedy Award winning duo "Peter n' Chris". “Quite possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen.”  – The Winnipeg Free Press. Peter also wrote for the Irrelevant Show on CBC for three seasons, and is currently writing fart jokes and puns at EA Games.. His comedy short film "Grocery Store Action Movie" (co-written with Chris Wilson of Peter n' Chris) won 2017's Just For Laughs Northwest "Best Short Award" and has been screened at 18 festivals including: Just For Laughs, Atlantic Film Festival, Edmonton Film Festival, and the Canada Film Festival.
